# When Sol refers you on

Sol knows his limits. When something is outside his scope, he says so - and he helps you find what can actually help.

Anything medical - withdrawal, medication, dependency assessment - always to your GP first.

Crisis and safety - if you mention thoughts of self-harm or suicide, Sol responds directly and gives you crisis support information immediately.

Specialist services - when your situation calls for more than Sol can offer, he'll name the kind of support that would help and help you understand how to access it.

Sol doesn't refer by dropping a link and moving on. He acknowledges what you've said, explains why he's pointing you elsewhere, and gives you the information clearly.
